Please Pray

by Adrienne on August 28, 2009

*Update*

*Megan just came out of surgery and is doing well. They had to remove the tube and are keeping her overnight just to make sure she’s OK.  Thanks for all the prayers, we really appreciate them!*

I just found out this morning that my sister Megan is being sent to surgery after her fallopian tube ruptured.  This is her second ectopic pregnancy in 6 months and she is devastated. She is also in a lot of pain from the tube rupturing.  Please keep her in your prayers. I will update when she gets out of surgery.

Back in the saddle again

by Adrienne on August 27, 2009

So school has started and we are back in full swing.  Getting up at the crack of dawn,  homework, packing lunches,  soccer practice. It has been such a busy week.  Last week was especially busy with the first day of school and Wesley’s birthday. We don’t have a whole lot planned for this weekend and I’m looking forward to a relaxing weekend. ( I promise a Charleston post and a post for Wesley’s birthday party are coming soon.)

We have some big changes coming up for our family and I’m really excited, and maybe a little bit nervous. Chances are that the 4 people that read this blog probably know what I’m talking about but I’ m going to be vague, for dramatic effect.  Please pray for us in the upcoming weeks/months.

Tuesday night, I met some of my church friends for coffee. I was in desperate need of some female bonding.  We had a really great time and I’m hoping that we can do it on a regular basis.  I feel really blessed to have such great friends.

Frog-O-Sphere

by Adrienne on August 24, 2009

This is one of Wesley’s birthday presents (from us).

We saw these in Brookstone and I knew Wesley would love one.  You only have to change the water twice a year, and feed the frogs twice a week, they come with a years supply of food, and they are soooo cute!  I went to pick one up last week and they actually put the frogs in the box and stick it in the bag and send you on you way ( kind of freaked me out).

There is supposed to be a snail, but I’m not sure it’s still alive.  Wesley named them Fred and Kermit. This is Fred, he was really loving the camera today…

Kermit…not so much.

Aren’t they cute??!!

Wesley’s first day of school.

by Adrienne on August 23, 2009

Wesley’s first day of first grade was this week. He was really excited. I think he was starting to get bored and he missed his friends. Here is the big first grader on his first day!!!

He was very excted about his teacher, Mrs. Wright.  She is the one he was hoping to get and he really likes her. He told me that she is very nice and that nobody ever gets in trouble in her class :-)

I just couldn’t resist this picture of Emma telling her big brother bye.  It’s a little blury but it was so sweet.  She has been missing him during the day.

Happy 7th birthday Wesley!

by Adrienne on August 19, 2009

I can not believe my little boy is 7 today!  It’s hard for me to imagine what my life was like before I became a mother.  I have known that I wanted to have children my whole life. When I was a little girl I would wonder what my children would look like, how many I would have, if they would be boys, or girls, or both.  I spent a lot of time babysitting, and would imagine being a mother.

As much as I looked forward to it, and thought about it, I could not have imagined that it would be as wonderful as it has turned out to be.  So I became a mother for the first time 7 years ago today, and it has been the best 7 years of my life!  Wesley is such a joy and I want to share some special things about him…

Wesley is very kind and tenderhearted, he has a strong sense of right and wrong and is not afraid to point it out if someone is doing something they shouldn’t do. ( even to his Mom and Dad) ;-)

He is very witty. He has my sense of  humor, and he keeps us laughing.

He ADORES his sister and is so sweet to her. Emma comes in his room all the time and plays with his toys and he NEVER complains about it.

He thinks his Daddy is the most wonderful man in the world and wants to do and be everything that Eric is.

He has amazing faith and loves the Lord.

He is very smart. I know a lot of parents say this about thier child, but he really is. He is also very good at math. ( he gets that from his Dad)

His FAVORITE color is blue.

He loves Star Wars.

He loves sharks and sea life.

He loves chocolate.

He loves chocolate chip cookies.

If he had only one cookie and he knew you wanted it, he’d give it to you.

Wesley you are such a blessing! We love you very much! Happy Birthday!

Here are some of my favorite pictures from the past 7 years.

WARNING: tons of pictures and EXTREME cuteness!

I was so excited to get this a few days ago… A good friend’s SIL made it for Emma, and I’m so excited!  I can’t wait for the day when I can put the big clip in bows in her beautiful hair. We’ve been hanging our bowbands in the closet on hooks. I’m hoping that I [...]

Emma’s room
