Olivia part 2

by Adrienne on October 30, 2009

Here she is all cleaned up.  Isn’t she gorgeous?!

I could stare at her all day.  Is there anything sweeter than a newborn baby?

Wesley is a pro and Emma was kind of curious.

She still says “No way” when I ask her if she wants Mommy to have another baby.

So everyone is saying that Olivia looks like Emma.  I can see a resemblance.  I think she has Heather’s eyes and nose and Blake’s mouth.  She sure is beautiful!

Olivia Blake

by Adrienne on October 28, 2009

Yesterday was a long and exhausting day for Heather (and Blake).  She was checked into the hospital Monday night at about 8, they induced her the next morning at around 7, and Olivia decided not to grace us with her presence until 11:58 P.M.

Heather was such a trooper. She pushed for 2 and 1/2 hours, after being in labor all day and not having anything to eat or drink since the night before.

Olivia was 7 lbs 7 oz. 21 inches long.  ( I would like to note that I guessed she would be 7lbs. 8oz. 21 1/2 inches.  Pretty close!)

Blake is smitten.

I got to be in the room when she was born and it was amazing. I think it is harder to watch someone you love go through labor and not be able to do anything to help them than it is to go through actual labor yourself.  I had never been on that end.  I feel so blessed to have been able to share that moment with my sister and my new little niece.

I am told that Olivia has had a bath and has on a cute outfit, so I am getting ready to head over to the hospital and introduce her to her cousins and her uncle.

More pictures coming soon.

An exciting day for Wesley

by Adrienne on October 20, 2009

Today was a long awaited day for Wesley.  It’s been 6 long weeks of wearing his cast.

And as his mother I have to do a little bit of bragging…

Wesley has not been able to ride bikes, skateboards ( he had just gotten a new one for his birthday), scooters, play on the playground, participate in gym class or play any sports.  And, he has not complained one single time.  I am not exaggerating.  Isn’t that amazing! If I had a broken arm I’m pretty sure I would whine about it at least a little bit.

Not Wesley.

I even got a sweet email from his teacher last week saying how impressed she was with how he has handled this.  She said that he is always happy in class and doesn’t let his broken arm prevent him from having a fun day.

So today he got his cast off!

This is Dr. Madigan.  He is wonderful, and Wesley loved him!  He still has to take it easy for the next three weeks though.

Our appointment was EARLY so Emma ate her breakfast while we waited.

She was really concerned about her brother’s boo boo.

Eric is going to go pick up Transformers 2 on DVD today for Wesley as a surprise.

Transformers Revenge of the Fallen

A week from today (or sooner) we will be welcoming Olivia Blake into our family!  I can’t wait! What an exciting time for Heather and Blake.

Low key weekend

by Adrienne on October 11, 2009

We had a really nice low key weekend.

Saturday Wesley and I baked some cookies.

Of coarse Wesley had to taste them to make sure they were OK.

Emma was taking a nap when we were baking and decorating, but when she woke up she was happy to do a taste test.

Here are some more pictures from this weekend.

I love this picture.  Emma picked up the Kid’s Directory at the Doctor’s office, and “read” it the whole way home.

A fun day of shopping

by Adrienne on October 5, 2009

Today Emma and I had a fun day shopping with Grandmommy.  We went to the outlet malls and had lunch at Cracker Barrel.  Emma did not feel like shopping today.  She was in a little bit of a rotten mood.  She did really enjoy looking at the train they had outside of the Christmas Place though.

My Mom insisted on taking this picture.  I look like death warmed over.  This ones for you Mom.

So here are the things we found today.

It is so much fun shopping for a litle girl!

I have to share this picture that I took this weekend.

Eric has this big roll of white paper that he sometimes uses for a background in photography.  So he cut off a large sheet for the kids to color on and they literally colored on it for hours.

LOVE THEM !!!

22 months

by Adrienne on October 4, 2009

Emma is 22 months old today.  Where has the time gone!  I can’t believe that in 2 months she will be 2!!!

It seems like this was just yesterday.

She is doing so much now and she can talk so well.  She isn’t a baby anymore and that kind of breaks my heart.

I am thankful for each day I have with her and I LOVE being her Mommy.

I wish it wasn’t going by so fast.

I’m looking forward to watching you grow and seeing the person that you become.

I love you.
