Fun in the snow

by Adrienne on January 31, 2010

We had a lot of fun playing in the snow today.  We had about 4 inches, not much, but enough to play in.

Our snowman.

Eric had the idea of using Wesley’s boogie board as a sled and it worked out really well.

We spent most of the day inside where it was nice and warm.  We played games, watched movies and I even got to take a nice winter’s nap.

21 weeks

by Adrienne on January 29, 2010

We went to the doctor yesterday for my 20 week ultrasound and got to see Ava again.  They said she looked perfect and everything is going great.  They moved my due date up a week so now my due date is June 12th, my birthday!  The funny thing about this is that I have always said that I wanted to have 3 kids by the time I was 30.  Looks like Ava will be born right on or before that deadline.

So instead of being 20 weeks I am actually 21 weeks now.

  • At 21 weeks Ava is about the size of a banana.
  • Instead of chips and salsa I have more of a sweet tooth now.
  • She is still moving a lot and I can even feel her having the hiccups occasionally.
  • I have been “nesting” a little already.

We are supposed to be having a small blizzard today, it is already snowing some.  Wednesday night Wesley informed us that he was supposed to sleep with his pajamas on backwards and sleep with a special card that he had made under his pillow. I guess it worked, just a day later because school was canceled today.

I have several friends and family members who want to get pregnant but for one reason or another they are having a hard time.  I just wanted to let all those people know ( you know who you are) that I am praying for you and believing that God will bless your families with a baby soon. I am looking forward to seeing all the awesome miracles that God has in store for 2010!

Busy Day

by Adrienne on January 26, 2010

I am really loving the outfits I bought for Emma and Ava the other day.

I also fell in love with these little booties.

Emma and I went over to the Gifford’s house this morning, so that she and Elliott could play and Sonda and I could have coffee.  They watched some cartoons together and played in tutu’s ( one of their favorite things ).

Wesley got a haircut today after school and I have to give a little shout out to my friend Sarah at Belleza.  She is awesome.  Wesley has a ginormous cow-lick right on the front of his head and Sarah is the only person that can cut it and it looks normal.  She does a great job ( whether you have a cow-lick or not).

We have another ultrasound scheduled for Thursday, so I will hopefully have some more pictures of Ava soon. :)

Planning…

by Adrienne on January 22, 2010

Aside from planning for our little bundle of joy, we are also planning a family vacation in a couple of months to Disney World!  We are really looking forward to it.  This will be Wesley’s second trip, we went in 2006 when he was four.  Emma has never been and I can’t wait!  I am so excited for her!  If you’ve been to Disney World before you know that it takes a little bit of planning.  I just so happen to love planning so that works out great for me.  I checked out some books from the library and I’m amazed at all the research that people have put in to Disney vacations.  There is so much information it’s a little overwhelming.  I highly recommend the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. Also the website All Ears.net has lots of great info.

We are also trying to plan this trip keeping budget in mind.  I’ve made it a goal to find ways to save money.  We already found a great deal on a hotel. We are staying at the Lake Buena Vista village resort and spa.  We found a great deal on a 2 bedroom suite with a full kitchen.  We also requested a room in building five, where you can see the fireworks from Magic Kingdom at night.  My MIL is coming with us on this trip and she has also never been to Disney.

I wanted to share some pictures from our trip in 2006.

In this picture Wesley was upset because we were waiting to see Cinderella come out of the castle, but he thought we said Cinder-gorilla. He had a horrible fear of gorillas at the time. :)

We loved the light parade at night.

The big bad wolf was Wesley’s favorite.

This is the Transit Authority ride in Tomorrowland I can’t even tell you how many times we got on this thing. He LOVED it.

This is Wesley and my niece Ella (and also Tigger).

I am really looking forward to taking Emma to see Minnie’s house.

Welcome home Daddy!

by Adrienne on January 20, 2010

Today Eric came home from New York. He has been traveling a lot for work lately. In the past two and a half weeks he has been to Las Vegas, Nashville, and New York.  We are so happy to have him home. He was missed very much!

He got us each a I heart New York t-shirt.  The kids were really excited to wear them.  I got one too, but mine is a little small. ;)   Wesley is dying to go to New York.  I would love to take a family trip there when the kids are a little older.

I heart long weekends

by Adrienne on January 18, 2010

We have had such a nice long weekend. I’m really kind of sad that it’s over.  We got to hang out with our friends the Giffords on Saturday night.  They came over to watch some football, eat pizza and just hang out for a while.  The kids had so much fun together.

Emma and Elliott decided they wanted to wear tutus and were absolutely adorable together.

I think they love each other.

Wesley, Kellen and Wyatt decided to form a band and they gave a really rockin’ performance.

Today I took Wesley on a “date” and we went to see Alvin and the chipmunks the Squeakquel.  It was such a cute movie.  If you haven’t seen it yet I highly recommend it.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

18 weeks

by Adrienne on January 15, 2010

I’m officially 18 weeks now, and definitely feel pregnant!  It has felt a little more “real” to me now that I know what I’m having.  Emma and Ava will be sharing a bedroom so we’ve been doing a little planning on how we want to arrange things in there.  It’s so much fun! I’ve always dreamed of having 2 little girls close in age and am so looking forward to Emma having a sister.  She will kiss my belly and if I ask her who is in there she says ” baby Ava”. I think she is starting to understand….a little.

So here I am at 18 weeks.

  • Still loving chips and salsa
  • Ava is moving around a lot!
  • At 18 weeks Ava is the size of a sweet potato about 5.6 inches and 6.7 ounces ( although they mentioned at my last appointment that she was about 9 ounces.)
  • I’m feeling good and have lots of energy
  • My back is starting to hurt a little.

I had lunch with my friend Tonya today and got to see her new little baby Keira , who was born right before Thanksgiving.

Keira is sooo sweet and you can’t see it in this picture but she has RED hair!

I am looking forward to having another one of these around. There is nothing sweeter than a baby!

After lunch I decided to go through a car wash to get all the salt off.  The next couple of pictures demonstrate Emma’s feelings about car washes pretty well…

Please don’t think I’m a horrible Mom for taking these pictures. It was both pitiful and hilarious at the same time.

Ava Charlotte

by Adrienne on January 12, 2010

We are so pleased to announce that we are having another little girl!  We are so excited and feel so blessed!

Here she is….

Ava Charlotte!

She still has lots of growing and some fattening up to do and it’s hard to really see who she looks like at this point, but everything looks good and she is healthy! Praise God!  We go back for a more extensive  ultrasound on the 28th.

Snow.

by Adrienne on January 10, 2010

In case you aren’t on facebook or didn’t see my post on Friday, my doctors appointment got cancelled due to snow.  I am supposed to call tomorow (Monday) and reschedule.  What are the odds? Oh well. You can imagine that I was a tiny bit disappointed that day. Our road was a solid sheet of ice and driving conditions around  Knoxville were pretty treacherous.

We have had cabin fever this week.  Eric has been out of town, and with the crazy weather we have been stuck in the house. We picked Eric up from the airport yesterday and went to eat lunch together so that was nice to get out of the house, even though it was a balmy 18 degrees.  We plan on doing something today to get out of the house.  I’m not sure what, but we’ll think of something.

Hopefully we will find out what the baby is this week.

Stay tuned.

I thought this was funny..

What’s in a name?

by Adrienne on January 7, 2010

I realized that I had never posted anything about the names that we have chosen.

So here goes..

For a girl…

Ava Charlotte

For a boy…

William Kenneth

We have had the name William Kenneth picked out for a while. Kenneth is Eric’s Dad’s name. Since Wesley has my Dad’s middle name ( David), we thought it would be nice to use Kenneth with William. I chose the name Ava Charlotte because I LOVE it!  It took a while for Eric to be sold on the name, but he finally came around and he promises that he loves it too.  I am dying to know.  Gymboree is having a great sale right now, so I can’t wait to go do a little shopping soon. :)

We are praying for a healthy baby, and that the rest of my pregnancy will go well.  We would appreciate your prayers as well.

A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.
