We survived Eric being gone…barely.

by Adrienne on February 25, 2010

So this past weekend Eric was out of town AGAIN.  I have made him promise he will not leave me again while I’m pregnant.  I REALLY missed him.  We spent some quality time with some of the grandparents this weekend while he was gone.

Saturday Pepaw and Rhonda came over for a visit.

They brought Wesley a Star Wars reader and Emma a Fancy Nancy book.

Sunday we went over to my Mom’s for lunch. The weather was so gorgeous! The high that day was 70! It was warmer here than in Anaheim California ( where Eric was).  We grilled out and played outside most of the day.

We had a very intense game of Mother may I.

We played outside even more when we got home.

Eric got home at about 3 Am on Wednesday morning.  Emma and I were up because she had a HORRIBLE stomach virus.  She threw up every 15 minutes from 6:30 that evening til 4 AM.  She was so pitiful.  I really think that watching your child suffer is one of the most horrible things in the world.  I kept thinking all night that I was so thankful Emma just had a virus that would be gone in a few hours.  I can’t imagine what parents go through who’s children have a disease or chronic illness.

As you can see today Emma is feeling much better.  She seems to be back to her normal self.  Her appetite will probably take a while before it gets back to normal though.

Last night when I was giving Emma a bath I said ” Emma is your tummy feeling better?” She said “Yes Mommy. I so glad.”  Bless it!

Thank Heaven for little girls

by Adrienne on February 22, 2010

One of Emma’s favorite things to do right now is dress up in tutu’s and dance in her room.  She loves it.

She found a bathing suit in her drawer the other day (she calls it a “baby suit”) and  wanted to wear it.

She spent a while trying to decide which shoes and bow to wear with it.

I tried to get a few action shots of her ” dancing” in her high heels.

Look at those chubby legs!

I am just so in love with how girly she has become. Even if she is a little high maintenance at times.

I love it!

24 weeks

by Adrienne on February 19, 2010

I am 24 weeks pregnant now!  It’s going by so fast! I haven’t checked one single thing off of my list of things to get done before the baby comes.  A list that includes potty training Emma and transitioning her into a big girl bed!  We have a few busy months ahead of us!

  • At 24 weeks Ava is about one pound and one foot long ( about the length of an ear of corn).
  • She moves a lot and she seems to favor one position. I can usually tell where her feet and hands are.
  • Emma has started talking to my belly. She says,”Hi Ava, I love you, see you later”.
  • Wesley talks to her too and he has to tell her bye every morning when he leaves for school. So sweet.
  • I still feel pretty good, just tired.  I don’t remember being this tired when I was at this stage in my pregnancy with Emma, but I also didn’t have a two year old to chase around.
  • I survived a nasty stomach virus last week.  I don’t have any new cravings to report. I’m just happy to have an appetite!
  • My skin is REALLY dry and I am so looking forward to warmer weather!

Today it was so beautiful outside! The sun was out and it was about 40 degrees.  They said on the news today that today was only the second sunny day that we’ve had in February!  I also got my new Southern Living magazine and it made me want to go outside and plant some flowers. ( I realize it’s a little soon.)

Speaking of flowers…

I bought myself a dozen roses the other day for TWO dollars!  They were 99 cents for half a dozen at ALDI’s this week.  Emma picked out the white ones.  I know I’m horrible at flower arrangements.  I even tried to make this one look nice!-HA!

* I forgot to put this in my post earlier, but one of the people I’ve been praying for to get pregnant……IS!!!  Praise God!  Congratulations Eric and Allison!  Still praying and believing for all you other ones!! ( you know who you are )*

Valentine’s Day

by Adrienne on February 16, 2010

Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s Day.  We had a nice low key day on Sunday.  We woke up Sunday morning and I made the kids heart shaped Valentine pancakes and gave them their little Valentine treats.

Their shoes are for Disney World. I had planned on trying to find some Disney jibbitz for their crocs, but after being sick and everything I did good just to get the shoes.  I can’t believe how BIG Emma’s shoes look! Bless her heart I think she takes after her Mommy.  I love my little Valentine’s!

Emma was a big girl on Sunday at church and went to her class for the very first time! She stayed the whole service and talked about how much fun she had.  Her BFF Elliott was there so I think that really helped that she had a buddy there to play with.

Yesterday Eric and I went on our Valentine’s date.  Dinner and a movie.  We had a great time.  My Mom watched the kids and I am so impressed because she had Olivia too.  She said they were all three very good.  Thanks MOM! I meant to get a picture of Eric and I before we left but I forgot.  I would like to say that I have the most wonderful husband in the world and we are really truly perfect for each other.  It is such a blessing to be able to spend my life with my best friend and someone I love so dearly and admire so much! He is also an amazing Daddy! I love you honey!

Here is a cute picture of Emma and Olivia in their matching Valentine shirts.

We went to see the movie Valentine’s Day.

ValentinesDay

It was REALLY good.  We both liked it.  It was a great date movie. The movie started about 20 minutes later than it was supposed too so we also got 2 free movie tickets.

It snowed AGAIN this week!  I am so ready for warm weather!

I’ll leave you with a funny picture of Wesley eating “The Great Wall of Chocolate” at P.F. Changs.

My Valentines

by Adrienne on February 12, 2010

It has been a rough week for me. I started out the week with a yucky stomach thing and had to miss the new ladies Bible study that started Monday night.  I started to feel better until early Thursday morning when I got the MOTHER of all stomach viruses.  I have NEVER been that sick in my entire life!  I’m still not 100 percent, but I definitely feel better. How lucky that I got sick twice in one week.  I’m still praying that the kids don’t get it. I spent most of the day disinfecting the house.

Anyway, today was Wesley’s Valentine party at school. These are the cute Valentine’s he took.

I thought they were so adorable. They hold a Hershey’s miniature chocolate bar.

Every year I try to make Valentine cards to give to our family.  I have fun doing it and it’s a lot less expensive than buying cards for everyone.  I think they enjoy getting the hand made ones more anyway.

Emma wanted to help, so I gave her a few stickers and some paper and she was happy.

Eric and I were supposed to go on our Valentine’s date today, but since I can barely hold down a bowl of cereal we are going to reschedule for Monday.  Hopefully I will be better by then.

Tonight Wesley decided that he wanted to watch the Olympics in Eric’s office,  so guess who had to do the same thing…

She didn’t quite make it to the opening ceremonies.  She tried though.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine’s weekend!

A perfect princess party

by Adrienne on February 11, 2010

Saturday we went to Jamestown Tennessee to go to Sydney’s third birthday party. Sydney is Eric’s cousin Joey’s little girl.  It was such a cute party and Emma has not stopped talking about it.  She keeps asking me if she can have a princess party.

Emma and Princess Sydney

The Cinderella cake and cupcakes

The royal table

Of course there was dancing

Sydney danced with her Daddy. ( How sweet is this?)

Sydney’s adorable little sister Sofia

After the party we went to Pizza Hut and ate dinner together.

This is right before the waitress dumped ice all over Sydney and Emma (poor things).

I had to take a picture of this because all three kids were eating broccoli!

It started snowing while we were there and the roads started to get a little scary on the way home, but we made it home safely.

Super Bowl party

Happy Birthday Heather/Baby Bookworms

Tuesday was Heather (my sister’s) birthday.  We went over to my Mom’s for a delicious lunch and cake and ice cream. Heather and sweet Olivia. Emma enjoyed her ice cream. I thought this was sweet.  Wesley didn’t want any help writing her name on the front of the card. Happy Birthday Heather! My sister Megan [...]

Strawberry Shortcake

So anyone who was a little girl in the 80′s can pretty much tell you that Strawberry Shortcake was the coolest thing around. ( At least I thought so anyway. ) You can imagine my excitement when they started making Strawberry Shortcake stuff again a few years ago.  Emma is starting to show some interest [...]
