I babysat for our friends Lindsay and Jeremy. This is their little cutie pie Tate. I wish I had a better picture, but he his constantly on the move so this was about as good as I could do. Emma really enjoyed having him around, she liked being the “boss” and “helping” me. I think it was good practice for both of us.
Here is what Wesley and Emma will be wearing to greet their new baby sister.
Emma was so excited when I showed hers to her that she had to wear it.
I really have been good about buying clothes for Ava. I love to shop for clothes, especially kids clothes, but I really haven’t bought that much for her. However I couldn’t resist these cute Carter’s coordinating outfits for Emma and Ava.
We got Emma’s bed this week and I’m happy to report that she has done great! She has slept in it the past two nights with no problem!
I will be painting Ava’s crib and the changing table this weekend.
Sigh.
I will be so happy to have everything ready because I am TIRED! Hope to have the room put together early next week. Of course I will be taking some pictures.
We are really getting excited around here about Ava Charlotte’s arrival. This pregnancy has gone by really fast so far. Although I’m very aware that this is the part where it starts to feel like it will never happen and you will be pregnant for the rest of your life.
We finally ordered Emma a bed. It should be here this week, so I will be sure and post some pictures when it gets here. We decided to go with a toddler bed for now. We plan on buying them matching twin beds later. I would like for them to share a room for a long time. I think it will be good for their sisterly bonding.
We have also been shopping for a double stroller and I think I’ve decided on this one.
It is a double stroller that also converts to a sit and stand. I love this color, but unfortunately I think it is out of stock so I will probably end up with a black one.
I would also love to get a car seat cover. I’ve dicovered that you can spend a small fortune on these. I like this one, but I also found some cute ones here.
This is also something I’m considering getting. I didn’t have one with Wesley or Emma, but I think one would really come in handy.
It’s a nursing cover if you aren’t familiar.
Please feel free to give me any advice on this stuff, or if there is something else that I “have” to have for Ava.
Wesley has had a busy week at school. They had testing, and everyday after school he went to football camp. He had a really great time and I think he learned a lot.
Today they had their games. Each grade broke up into two teams and they played against each other. Wesley’s team ( the Packers) didn’t win. The other team ( the Colts) won by two touchdowns. Obviously Wesley did not get to choose his team name! Ha!
Soooo close.
Wesley is so precious. He just melts my heart.
Emma cheered her heart out for her brother on the sidelines.
I think my belly looks kind of pointy in this picture.
I’m having a hard time sleeping at night.
I HEART ice cream.
I’m having some really strong Braxton Hicks. They hurt!
I read some where that at this point the baby sleeps 90-95% of the time. It doesn’t feel like it.
Either my hormones are going crazy or I am. Not sure which.
I went to the doctor this morning and everything looks good. When we got home Emma took a nap. This is when I would usually catch up on laundry, unload the dishwasher, or do something productive but instead I decided to just be lazy. After all I’m pregnant and I think that’s a pretty darn good exscuse to be lazy every once in a while. I took a bubble bath and a nap and….
We had a nice visit with my Dad and stepmom today also known as Gammy and Papaw. Even though they moved closer to us when they moved to Asheville, NC they have somehow managed to stay snowed in or sick since Christmas!
We hung out, played outside, went to lunch and played Rockband together.
I love Emma’s smile in this picture. She has finally started smiling when we ask her to for pictures.
Emma rocked it out on drums.
Cutest guitar player ever!
Emma and Olivia had fun playing together.
Cutie pie!
I finally finished painting our bedroom furniture.
Here’s a little before and after for ya.
Our bedroom has never been a priority as far as decorating goes. It’s pretty boring. We don’t even have any curtains up and we’ve lived here for almost 2 years. I’m trying to finally make it look decent. I’m shopping for new bedding, curtains, and lamps. I’ve also got some ideas to display some of our beach pictures. It will probably take a little while before I finish it because Emma and Ava’s room is a little more important at the moment.
Here are my favorite pictures from our maternity photo shoot that we did earlier in the week. Eric’s photography friend Jason came over and helped us with our pictures and Eric helped him with his wife’s maternity pics. She is due on the same day that I am. We had a great time and I love the pictures.
We can’t wait to meet our sweet little Ava Charlotte!
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Psalm 127:3
Today I went with Wesley on a field trip to the Mayfield Dairy farms in Athens, Tennessee. We had a great time even though we were a little disappointed that there were no cows there. It was neat to see how the milk was packaged and ice cream was made. We also got to have some delicious Mayfield ice cream. Wesley decided that his dream job is now to be an official Mayfield ice cream taste tester (an actual job).
Here is Wesley with Scotty Mayfield.
Some fun Mayfield facts..
Mayfield packages and distributes between 185,000 to 200,000 gallons of milk a day!
The top three best selling ice cream flavors are Classic vanilla, Moose Tracks, and Homemade vanilla.
Mayfield milk is still good 5-7 days after the sell by date on the jug. ( We never make it to that day in our house, our family drinks a TON of milk!)
We had to wear these lovely hair nets while we were on the tour of the factory.
Some of the cute first grade boys. ( Wesley is on the far right)
We were not allowed to take pictures on the tour. When we were done we got a scoop of ice cream.
Mmmmmmmm!
I wanted to take a picture of Wesley eating his ice cream, but I was a little late.
Wesley HAD to have this alligator from the gift shop. Not sure what an alligator has to do with Mayfield.
We had a fun day.
So this is what I’ve been up to the past few days..
I am painting our bedroom furniture black. I have done a TON of painting, but I’ve never painted furniture before. I did some research on the internet and decided to give it a try. I have to say that I am really impressed with myself.-Ha! Here is a picture of one of the night stands that I’ve finished. I haven’t finished putting on the new hardware.
I’ll post some more pictures when I get it completely finished. It also looks better in person than it does in the picture.
Last night, we had some maternity pictures made and I am SO excited about how they turned out. I honestly was really dreading it. I think pregnancy is beautiful and wonderful, but sometimes ( especially in the last trimester) you just feel HUGE. I have never had maternity pictures made and I am so glad that we took the time to do them this time.
Here is my HUGE pregnant self at 30 weeks. ( I’m actually 31 weeks today, but I am late doing this post…again.)
I have cankles.
I passed my third gestational diabetes test. ( hopefully the last one)
My iron is low, so I’m having to take a supplement with my prenatal vitamins.
Ava should be about 3 lbs. at this point and measure 16 inches long.
I’m waking up a lot during the night.
I’m having some really weird dreams.
My love for mint chocolate chip ice cream has grown.
I’m noticing the “nesting” instinct is really kicking in.
When Eric was taking this picture of me Emma ran over to the wall and posed.
Cutie pie. ( she has chocolate on her mouth)
We had a fun day of shopping today. I took some things to a consignment store and while I was there decided to do a little shopping. Consignment shopping for babies is great because a lot of the stuff has hardly and sometimes never been worn. Here are some of the cute things I picked up for Ava.
This was my best find. It is brand new and was $3.50.
Emma was so cute. She carried her purse through the store and she pulled out every outfit that had a strawberry on it. So I found her this dress, also brand new.
And just so you don’t feel bad for Wesley he got a couple of new outfits at Old Navy the other day, but honestly boy clothes get less and less exciting as they get older so I didn’t feel the need to take pictures.
After we picked up Wesley we headed to the mall for shoes. Wesley got some new flip flops and Emma picked out these.
I tried to talk her into some much cuter ones that had daisies on them and that she could probably wear with more things, but she said “NO MOMMY I WANT THE RAINBOW SHOES!” And even though they didn’t match her outfit she had to wear them out of the store.
I am not too ashamed to admit that I bribed my kids with a cookie so that they would behave during our shopping trip.
We spent Thursday of our week at our resort’s pool. It was a beautiful day and we felt like the kids ( and we) needed a break from all the walking.
This pirate ship had a huge water slide that came out on the other side.
It was a relaxing day.
As we were leaving the pool and walking back to our room we saw an armadillo. I’m sure there are tons of armadillos in Florida, but we were all so excited to see one. I had never seen one in person before.
All I could think of was this…
On Friday we went to Animal Kingdom.
One of my favorite things is the safari ride.
See this beautiful ostrich. It was so close to our jeep. We were so excited to see one of the animals so up close.
Until…
It decided to attack me. It came running ( very quickly) over to our vehicle squawking and had it’s feathers all fluffed out.
Not cool.
The kids got to meet Pluto and Goofy.
My very favorite thing we did at Disney was watch Finding Nemo the musical. It was awesome!
The kids were impressed too.
The Dinosaur ride. (One of Wesley’s favorites)
The whole family in front of the Tree of Life.
We left Animal Kingdom at went to Downtown Disney, where we let the kids shop for souvenirs.
Emma chose this baby Ariel doll.
We were sad to leave and even though we spent a week there we still felt like we didn’t get to do everything we wanted to. We are already planning another trip when Ava is around 2. Eric and I would love to go just the two of us sometime. We are hoping we can do that sometime soon. I’m not sure the kids would ever forgive us though.
This picture pretty much sums up our trip back home.
Wesley and Eric both say that they love Hollywood Studios ( used to be MGM ) the best out of all the parks. We certainly had a fun day. I can’t decide which park was my favorite. Hollywood Studios was definitely in my top 4. HA!
One of the first things we did was meet Woody and Buzz. We took these while we waited in line.
Toy Story is one of Emma’s favorite movies, she was thrilled to be able to meet the “real” Woody and Buzz…..until she got up next to them.
That is why I’m in this picture. She did not want to go near Woody. You can see in the picture that he is GINORMOUS so that probably had something to do with why she was so freaked out. She finally cracked a smile when Woody started tickling her.
Wesley at the streets of America.
The Star Wars jedi training academy show.
We all loved the Beauty and the Beast musical!
Emma noticed something in the sky.
The guys loved the Indiana Jones stunt spectacular show, Emma, Mimi and I were at the playhouse Disney Live on stage show.
Both of the kids loved playing on the Honey I Shrunk the Kids movie set.
Hi I'm Adrienne! Welcome to my blog! I started this blog to journal our life as a family. I'm a stay-at-home Mom who started the adventure of homeschooling just last year. I've been married to my husband Eric for 11 years. We have been blessed with three children: Wesley (our sweet 9 year old), Emma (our very girly 4 year old), and Ava (our loving, and sometimes a little feisty, 18 month old). We are so thankful to the Lord for all of the blessings in our life and we try to lead a life that is pleasing to Him. Thanks for stopping by and I'd love for you to leave a comment!
