I have been a busy lady the past week. I have decided to start potty training Emma. It’s going really well so far, but it’s hard to do with a newborn. I will admit that today was kind of a rough day. Wesley has been at his grandparents for the past three days, and since she hasn’t had her brother around she has wanted my constant attention. We are so happy to have him back home!
I’m doing a little bit of catch up blogging. I haven’t had a second to blog and I also misplaced my camera. I haven’t even had a chance to look for it, which is not really an excuse for not taking pictures because we do have a “few”other cameras. HA!
Saturday we went to Livingston, TN to visit with Eric’s parents and to go to a birthday party. Here are some pictures of some of the beautiful countryside in Livingston.

We had quite a spread waiting on us.

We grilled hot dogs and hamburgers.

Love these cuties!

Sippin’ on some sweet tea on the front porch.

Saturday evening we went to Sofia’s first birthday party. Sofia is the daughter of Joey ( Eric’s cousin).

Emma had her first snow cone.

She had a blast playing at the park.

One last thing.
Kelly from Kelly’s Korner wrote this great post the other day about “keeping it real” on her blog. I really love what she had to say and thought I would pass it along to anyone else who has a blog, or if you read my blog and think my life is always perfect. HA!

So I’ll start off this post with one of the CUTEST things ever!

Look how tiny she looks in her swing.

Today I got a gift in the mail. I LOVE getting presents in the mail!

This is from Joey and Tara (Eric’s cousin). I love it because Ava’s car seat is black and white so it coordinates with it. Thank you Mitchell family! Love you guys!
A couple of weeks ago I went to a Thirty-One party at a neighbors house. If you aren’t familiar, Thirty-One is a faith based company that sells cute bags and they also do monogramming. And this is what I got…

It’s an insulated tote bag. I thought it was something I could use to take food and drink in to the pool, beach etc.

Eric and I did some much needed work on our front flower beds. We still have two more flower beds at the front of our driveway that we haven’t finished, but I really like how this one turned out.

Last but not least, our church’s children’s ministry has a monthly newsletter. They have a boy and girl of the month , and this month they had Wesley in it. I thought it was too cute not to share.

Eric,
Thank you for being such an amazing, loving and devoted father to our three beautiful children. I love you so much and appreciate everything you do for our family.
Also, I noticed that you are hardly in ANY of our family pictures because you are always the one taking the pictures. I’m going to try to take the camera from you more often so we have more pictures with you in them.

Also Happy Father’s Day to my Daddy.
I love you Dad!

We have had a fun week visiting with family and friends. Monday my sister Ellen and her family came to visit and see baby Ava. Here are Wesley, Emma and Ava with their cousins Spencer and Connor (twins) and Ella.

We don’t get to see them very often because they live in North Carolina, but we always have a great time when we get together!
Today we went to see Toy Story 3 with Eric’s cousin Joey, his wife Tara and their daughter Sydney.

We LOVED the movie! As you can see Jesse and Woody came with us. Buzz had to stay in the car because he makes too much noise.

This was before the movie started. I wanted to get a picture of them in their 3D glasses because they were so cute!
This was also Ava’s first movie and she was such a good girl! She slept through the whole movie!

Yesterday was my thirtieth birthday! It was a little sad to say goodbye to my twenties, but I feel so grateful to be blessed with all I have. I spent the day with Eric and the kids. We didn’t do anything exciting, but we went out to lunch for the first time as a family of five, and did some shopping.

Wednesday my Mom cooked lunch for us and had us over to celebrate my birthday. She always cooks us our favorite meal for our birthday. We had cupcakes for dessert.

I’m happy to report that Emma is doing much better with Ava. She seems to be more excited about her and here is a picture to prove it.

Here is one more picture of all three of my babies.

We are settling in well with Ava. She is such a good baby. She sleeps ALL the time and when she is awake she is very content and happy.

Wesley is still IN LOVE and wants to hold her all the time.

Emma is still adjusting to not being the baby anymore and she’s having a little bit of a hard time. It seems to be getting a little better, but it’s really hard at bedtime.
We have been so blessed by our family and our church family bringing us meals. It’s been so nice to not have to worry about cooking dinner, and we’ve really had some yummy food.
Tonight we went for a walk in our neighborhood and tried out our new double stroller. Thank you Gammy and Papaw.

Emma found some wildflowers along the way.

She shared some of her flowers with Ava.

Ava Charlotte made her arrival on Sunday morning May 30th at 8:45 after 16 ( yes 16) hours of labor. She weighed 7lbs. 15oz. and was 20 inches. She surprised us and was exactly two weeks early.
She is healthy and perfect and we are all just so in love with her.

Everyone seems to say that she looks like Wesley.

We got home last night and Wesley and Emma came home today ( they were at my Mom’s). We are happily adjusting to our new family of 5. Emma is not really interested in Ava at the moment and was a little pouty tonight when Eric put her to bed. I’m hoping she was just tired and tomorrow she will feel better. Wesley is really excited about Ava and wants to hold her ALL the time. I’m sure I will have lots more pictures to share soon!
