Fun at the pool

by Adrienne on July 29, 2010

We had another fun day at the pool yesterday. Wesley will be in Asheville with my Dad next week, and the week after that is when school starts, so yesterday was his last day at the pool.  He made a sweet Thank You card for Aunt Merrily.

He also made up some awesome super hero jumps.

The Batman..

The Wolverine..

and the Spiderman..

Emma made some progress.

She even went out in the water (on a float) with Lucy.  This is the first time this summer that she has made it off of the steps.

Ava spent most of the day (as usual) hanging out with Aunt Merrily.  Some people might even say that she is a “baby hog”. ;)

It was a fun day!

I did it by myself!

by Adrienne on July 27, 2010

Today I took all three kids to a movie, lunch at chick-fil-a, and to play at the play area in the mall, and I did it all by myself!  Eric and I discussed taking the kids to the free movie together, but ended up talking ourselves out of it last night.  Ava was up this morning at 6 AM and I decided to go ahead and get up and get it together, so I could take them.  I was determined.  I guess I should mention that I haven’t been brave enough to take them anywhere, other than a friend or family members house, by myself.  We went to see Veggie Tales The Pirates who don’t do anything.

Everything went well, except for a little mishap with Emma’s pull up.  It leaked while she was sitting on my lap.  Thank goodness for those powerful bathroom hand dryers.  After we got that cleaned up everything was fine, and the kids loved the movie.  We ate lunch at one of our favorites places, Chick-fil-a.

After lunch I let the kids burn off some energy at the play area.

l

Clearly, Ava was exhausted from getting up so early.

I’m feeling really brave.  Who knows what else we might do this week!

Saturday

by Adrienne on July 24, 2010

Ava loves her Daddy.

She also loves her new pedicure.

Oh yes I did.

Today I got to spend some time with my little buddy. We were going to go out for ice cream, but he decided he wanted a giant slice of cookie instead.

Eric and I have been trying to take him and do things with just him.  We feel like he gets the “short end of the stick” a lot of times.  Emma and Ava need a lot of attention, and he is so patient and loving with them. He is spending the night tonight with my Mom, so it will be fun for him to have a little break from his sisters.

I miss him already.

A little bit of cuteness

by Adrienne on July 22, 2010

Emma and Olivia just so happened to have on their matching bathing suits at the pool yesterday.

What cute little cousins.

Ava is growing so much.  She is smiling and cooing now and it is SOOOOOO ADORABLE!  She was cooing in this picture.

This little gown that she has on was Wesley’s……sigh….I can’t believe that he will be EIGHT next month!  Anyway, it’s the only thing that all three of my babies have worn.  It’s also really soft and has a cute matching blanket.

Is she the sweetest thing or what??!!

V.B.S. 2010

by Adrienne on July 17, 2010

We have had so much fun at V.B.S. this week!  It made for a very busy week, but ALL of us (even Eric and I) had a great time!

Here we are in our V.B.S. t-shirts.

I worked in the nursery ( Ava’s class ) and I really enjoyed it.  We had a great group of workers and I think we probably had the best job at Bible school.  Emma LOVED Bible school this year and did great in her class.  She’s been singing all the little songs she learned this week.  Wesley said “this was the best V.B.S. ever” and I think I agree.  The Lads where there each night and we are all now big time Lads fans.

Last night was family fun night and it was a great end to an awesome week!

We enjoyed The Lads in concert.

Wesley with The Lads.

After the concert we went outside for inflatables, snow cones, and a petting zoo.

Eric did  pictures and video and I may put some of those up once he gets them edited.  I’m sure they’re a little better than my pictures. :)

Tinkerbell

by Adrienne on July 9, 2010

Emma’s favorite movie to watch lately has been Peter Pan.  She was so excited to get a Tinkerbell costume from Gammy when she was in town this past weekend.  She wore it for two days straight and even slept in it one night.  Yesterday she was watching Peter Pan and fell asleep.  I had to take a picture of the little sweetie in her costume with her toys.

4th of July

by Adrienne on July 7, 2010

Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July!

We had a great one.  After church we went to my Mom’s for a cookout.

All of the kids in their red , white and blue.

This is our family last 4th of July. I’m hoping next year we will be at the beach again!

We went downtown to watch the fireworks with my Dad and stepmom (Gammy and Papaw).

This was Ava’s first firework show, and she DID NOT like it one bit!  Wesley and Emma loved it!

Ava is one month old

by Adrienne on July 3, 2010

How can she be one month old already??

  • Ava was one month old on June 30th.  At her check up she weighed 9lbs (43rd percentile) and was 20 and 7/8 inches ( 38th percentile).  She is my little runt. ;)
  • She got a great report and the doctor said she looked perfect.
  • She still eats every two to three hours, but she will go as long as 4 hours at night (yesss).
  • She loves bath time.
  • She loves her swing and she loves to be rocked.
  • Wesley and Emma love to talk to her and sing to her.  Ava loves it and seems to be pretty entertained by her siblings.
  • She is such an easy baby and she still sleeps a lot.
  • People are starting to say she looks like Emma, but I still think she looks more like Wesley.
  • She smiles in her sleep all the time and I think she is on the verge of smiling “for real”.
  • The only toy she seems interested in at this point is her fish mobile.
  • She loves her paci.

Eric and I took some pictures of her today and I think they turned out great. I will share them once they are edited.

Yesterday we met the Giffords at Chick-fil-a for dinner.

After we ate we all came back to our house so the kids could play.

The boys.

The girls.

Sonda and I thought maybe Emma and Elliott would settle down and watch Peter Pan and eventually fall asleep.  It lasted for about 10 minutes.

Everyone had their turn to hold Ava.

Kellen and Wyatt are pros at holding babies.  I think they are getting excited about their new baby brother or sister due in January.

Party, Pool, and Potty

by Adrienne on July 2, 2010

Happy Birthday (yesterday) to my wonderful, sweet, loving, brilliant, handsome husband!!

Here he is with his three adoring children. We made him a chocolate eclair cake, his very favorite dessert.

If you know my husband, then you know why this shirt is the PERFECT gift for him.  He drinks a lot of Mountain Dew.

Tonight we went to Wasabi with Eric’s grandmother to celebrate his birthday.

We had to embarrass him.

My sweet little baby is one month old!! WHAT???!!!

We are doing an official one month photo shoot this weekend.

We are so blessed to have Eric’s grandmother (Maa) around.  She is so sweet to us and our kids ADORE her.

Both of the Emmas.

About once a week the kids and I go to my Aunt Merrily’s house to swim in her pool.  The kids look forward to it and always have a blast.  Emma is a little diva and won’t hardly get in the pool.  This week she did get to the third step, so I think I’ll be going to Target and getting her a float.

Wesley is the opposite he loves the water.  Here he is with my brother Adam.

Ava also prefers to lounge by the pool.

Heather and Olivia.

Some of the cousins.

Madeline, James, Kate, Molly, Merrielle and Rachel.

James and Kate are my cousin Kelly’s kids. I think that makes them my second cousins.  I used to babysit them all the time when they were smaller.  I have no idea how they got so big!  Love them!

We are really making progress with the potty training.  Emma is doing so well.

I bought some pull ups the other day at the store and I am so impressed with the packaging. (I don’t get out much.)

They even came with cute stickers, and a CD Rom that you use to track your progress.

And they are SO cute!
