My Mess Maker and A Late Night Field Trip

by Adrienne on September 30, 2010

I have a major little mess maker on my hands. Good thing she is so cute!

I took this picture after I heard, ” I got some powder Mommy”.

She sure did.

Tuesday we promised the kids a trip to the aquarium.  Long story short, we got a really late start, and didn’t get there until seven. It turned out to be one of our best trips ever. We were practically the only people there!

If you’ve been to Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg in the fall you know there is no shortage of  Fall displays.

I love how she is looking at him in this one.

I love this tree decorated for fall.

We had the shark tunnel all to ourselves.

It was a fun night but we were TIRED when we got home!

If you didn’t see my last post, watch the video from VBS. It will make you smile.

VBS Video

by Adrienne on September 30, 2010

This is the video that Eric did for our VBS at church this year. I’ve been meaning to post it for a while. This is the type of thing that Eric is doing at our church now. He loves it and I think he’s great at it!

Emma has a cameo appearance.

Fall, Family, Food and Football!

by Adrienne on September 19, 2010

Saturday we had some family over to watch the game.  We had a lot of fun, even though the Vols lost, and ate way too much food! I snapped a few pictures of my Fall decorations.

I did a little bit of decorating for our football party. I’ve always loved how UT colors coordinate with Fall decorations. :)

I think these lanterns are my favorite.

We had a delicious lunch cooked by Eric’s grandmother and me.

One thing is for sure, we have some CUTE little girls in our family.

We always have a great time hanging out with the Mitchells.

Poor little Ava was the only one not decked out in UT apparel, only because she pooped in hers.

That pretty much set the tone for the game. HA!

Homemade Chalkboard

by Adrienne on September 15, 2010

I’ve been wanting a chalkboard to use for school for a while, and I finally took the time to make one.  I had an old picture in the garage, and with a can of black spray paint for the trim and some chalkboard paint I transformed it from this…

to this…

It works perfect in our “classroom”, which is just a section of our dining room.

I love it, and it only cost me $3.60!

A few days ago I went to dinner with my Mom. It was just the two of us and my little sidekick of course.

My camera had a smudge on the lens, that’s why my Mom is glowing in the picture.

It was so nice to talk to her and not be interrupted a million times by little children. I hope we can make this a regular event, and I don’t know why I didn’t think of this sooner!

Here are just a couple of random pictures of the girls that I snapped before church on Sunday.

This is the Madame Alexander Cinderella doll she got out of a McDonalds happy meal.  She takes it with her everywhere.

Labels

by Adrienne on September 10, 2010

A few weeks ago my thoughtful husband surprised me with a label maker.  I have wanted one for a LONG time and I was so excited to finally get one. It’s really been handy for homeschool organization.

It does a bunch of fancy stuff, but all I know how to do is make basic labels. Maybe someday I will read the manual.

I’m trying to find more stuff to label!

Speaking of labels…

Has anyone had to read this book?

So we’ve known Emma is strong willed since she was a baby, and lately it’s been really rough. I decided to read this book when our pediatrician warned us that her defiance might get a little worse around age three.  This is NOT what I wanted to hear! Worse? Really?

This was an Oreo cookie by the way.

I should also note that the reason she doesn’t have on pants is because we are potty training. Still.

Emma can be the sweetest most loving, caring little girl you’ve ever met. But when she decides she doesn’t want to do something she will BATTLE with you to the death. It has made me feel like the worst Mom ever.  Wesley has always been SO compliant and was (and is) so easy to discipline, and I’ll be honest before I had Emma I just thought most people had no idea how to be good parents! Ha!

Thank GOODNESS for Dr. Dobson!

I know that the Lord made her this way for a reason and he has a purpose for her.  I am learning to “shape her will and protect her spirit”.  I’m doing a lot of praying, and taking it a day at a time.

Guess who is also strong-willed in our family?  You may have guessed if you read this post that it’s Eric, and he turned out pretty well. I think because he is strong willed he is able to deal with her “emmasodes” better than I am.

She is totally worth it all and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for her life!

Ava is 3 months old

by Adrienne on September 9, 2010

My sweet little Ava turned three months old last week. I can’t believe how much she has grown already!

Here are some facts about Ava.

  • She wears a size 3-6 months.
  • She sleeps pretty well at night, and usually wakes up once.
  • She is such a good baby and is so happy.
  • She still loves her pacy.
  • She wears a size 2 diaper.
  • She LOVES her Daddy, she will always smile for him and when she hears his voice she will start kicking her legs because she is so excited.
  • She loves to watch Wesley and Emma.
  • She eats every 3-4 hours.
  • She can put her hand on her pacy take it out and put it back in. ( I think this is amazing! HA!)

We had to reschedule her Dr. appointment, so I don’t have her stats.

I am really enjoying Ava. Like I said she is such a GOOD baby. Anyone who has been around her knows this! What a blessing!

Looking back.

Here she is at two months…

And at one month…

We love you so much Ava Charlotte!

So Long Summer . . . HELLOOOOOO FALL!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday weekend!  The weather here has been beautiful!  It really felt like Fall since the temperatures were below 90 for the first time in FOREVER!  I love Fall.  Really, I do but it really snuck up on me this year!  And, I will admit that I’m a little [...]
