Ava is ONE!!!!!

by Adrienne on May 30, 2011

It’s been a wonderful year!  What an incredible blessing Ava is to our family!  She is such a joy!  I’ve taken a picture of her every month to document how much she has changed in a year.

I’ll start from the beginning.

Here she is on her BIRTH-day.  Just a few hours old!

One month.

Two months.

Three months.

Four months.

Five months.

Six months.

Seven months.

Eight months.

Nine months.

Ten months.

Eleven months.

Twelve months!

At 12 months Ava:

  • Says Dada, Mama (finally), Bubba ( Wesley), Emma ( sounds like Memma), Hi and Bye Bye.
  • Loves to pretend to talk on the phone.  She is always talking to Dada.
  • Eats all the time.  She will eat anything, and I mean anything.  She has eaten cat food, grass, a bug, chalk, and who knows what else.  I have to be so careful about things that are in her reach because they go straight in her mouth!
  • She isn’t walking yet, but she is getting close!
  • She has figured out how to climb up the steps.  Hellloooo baby gates.
  • Wears size 12 months clothes and size 3 diaper.
  • She has 6 teeth, soon to be 8. Teething has been rough!
  • She loves to be read to and LOVES music.

Ava and her Daddy.

Me and my sweet girl.

Her silly brother and sister.

We are having her party on Saturday, but tonight we went over to the Giffords for a cookout and swimming, so we gave her a cupcake and sang Happy Birthday.  She LOVED it!

Happy Birthday Ava Charlotte.

We love you so much!

Epcot

by Adrienne on May 27, 2011

Our last day was at Epcot.  I love love love Epcot!  It is so beautiful and especially during the flower and garden festival ( which I think starts in March and ends sometime in May).

We got there early so we could get in line to meet Tinkerbell.  Emma was so excited about meeting her, she talked about it all week.  We waited for about an hour and when it was finally our turn to go up and meet her, Emma started crying and wouldn’t even look at Tinkerbell.

Here is the picture to prove it.

The dude fairy in the picture is Terrence, he is in some of the new Tinkerbell movies. In case you were wondering.

We still got Tinkerbell’s autograph.

Later on Emma told us she was mad at Tinkerbell because she wasn’t little.  HA HA!

Here are some of the awesome garden sculptures.

Rapunzel’s tower.

Once again, it was a hot day so we cooled off at the fountains.

Wesley and Eric worked really hard to get that picture.

Emma and her Daddy trying out some chopsticks at lunch.

There is SO much to do at Epcot.  We rode so many rides like Test Track, Mission Space, Spaceship Earth, The Finding Nemo ride, Soarin ( another favorite of mine), We also saw a dolphin show in the water building.  I never feel like I have enough time there.  It was our last day, but I think it was my favorite. :)

Animal Kingdom

by Adrienne on May 26, 2011

Eric’s Mom sat this one out, so we did Animal Kingdom all by ourselves.   We got there early, and the first thing we did was the safari ride.

We all loved these giraffes!

I had never seen a giraffe run ( or gallop?) before. Pretty fascinating!

We watched the Finding Nemo show again.  It is amazing!

Eric and Wesley on the Dinosaur ride.  I rode this too ( we did the switch pass again), and it was really scary!

We had our hands full at Animal Kingdom since Mimi wasn’t with us.  I think that’s why we have so few pictures.  Here is a cute picture of Ava back at our hotel in her cute Mickey ears!

I’ll finish up our Disney posts tomorrow with pictures from our last day at Epcot!

Magic Kingdom. . .again

by Adrienne on May 25, 2011

So, our third day at Disney we went to Magic Kingdom again.  They wore their Mickey and Minnie outfits again.

Here we are in front of the castle again!

I like this picture.

We were all excited about meeting Mickey and Minnie, but Emma was beside herself.

This is one of my favorite pictures.

Our family picture didn’t turn out as good.

Ava only liked Mickey and Minnie from a distance. Poor thing.

We also got to meet the princesses.

Look at Emma’s face!

Another favorite picture.

Wesley lost a tooth at lunch that day.  He was really excited about losing a tooth at Disney World.

Wesley got to meet Pinocchio.

Another pretty castle picture.

A couple of the beautiful murals inside the castle.

After we rode a few more rides, we headed to Downtown Disney to do some shopping.

Eric took this picture in front of the entrance as we were leaving.

Wesley at the Lego store.

Wesley racing his Lego car.

I loved this castle in World of Disney.

We shopped til we dropped ( some of us literally) and then headed back to our hotel to get rested for another fun day!

Hollywood Studios

by Adrienne on May 24, 2011

Our second day at Disney, we went to Hollywood Studios.

One of the first things that we did was watch the Beauty and the Beast show.

Emma and Ava were fascinated.

We also saw the Star Wars show.

And the Ariel show.

While Wesley and Eric were riding the Rockin Roller Coaster, we decided to cool off with a Mickey premium bar.

Ava was so funny with hers, she grabbed a hold of it and just went to town!  She made a HUGE mess with it, but she loved it SO much!

Yummmmm.

We got a switch pass and I got to ride the roller coaster with Wesley too.  It was SO much fun!

One of the things that is so nice about Disney, is that they have baby care centers at each park.  They have changing tables, nursing Mom rooms, high chairs, bathrooms, and they even have a place for older siblings to chill out and watch cartoons.  They also sell things like Tylenol, diapers, wipes, snacks etc.  It is so nice!

It was really hot the week we were there, and it was nice to let the kids take a break from the heat.

We got to watch the “Lights, Motors, Action, Extreme Stunt Show”. It was really neat, and Wesley loved it! This was a first for us.

Another first, was walking through the Walt Disney museum.

Walt Disney’s office.

A model of Cinderella’s castle.

A picture of the castle being built.

A model of the Peter Pan ride.

Eric’s Mom with some Mickey Mouse Club memorabilia. She said this museum was one of her favorite things.

Emma and I rode the Toy Story Mania ride together.  The ride is in  3D, hence the glasses.  This is one of my FAVORITE rides!

It was such a fun day!

We decided to go for a swim when we got back to our hotel.

A perfect way to end an awesome day!

Disney World

by Adrienne on May 23, 2011

I can’t believe it has taken me SO long to do a Disney post!  We had such an amazing trip! Lots of wonderful memories were made!

The kids were totally shocked when we woke them up and told them we were leaving to go to Disney World for a week! We have it on video and I will try and post that soon! I still can’t believe that Eric and I were able to pull that off!

Here is a picture of the kids before our first day at Magic Kingdom.

Ava was excited about her first trip to Disney!

We always have to take a picture of  “the sign” as we drive in.  SO exciting!

Our family in front of the castle.

We got there right in time to get front row seats to the “Move it, Shake it, Celebrate it parade”.

Then we headed over to the castle.

This is when Emma first saw the princesses.

It was very magical.

One of our favorite things to do at Magic Kingdom is ride the “People Mover” in Tomorrowland.  There is never a line and it’s just nice and relaxing.

Mimi ( my MIL), and Ava.

We also ALL love the Buzz Lightyear ride.

Eric’s Mom looks really into it in this picture. HA!  She was in the zone! She did get the most points out of all of us.

I love Ava in this pic.

One of my favorite memories was riding “It’s a Small World” with Emma.  She was so amazed!

I love this picture that Eric took of the castle.

People lined up to see the “Main Street Electrical Parade”.

We had an awesome first day at Magic Kingdom!

Stay tuned for a WHOLE lot more!
