We had a fun busy weekend. We had been planning on having a family day on Friday, and the original plan was to go to Dollywood. Thursday night, we had some terrible storms come through in the middle of the night. We actually ended up running across the street to our neighbor’s house to take cover in her basement. It was so scary, and we had a loooooong night, so we ended up not getting up early to get to Dollywood. Instead we went to the aquarium.
Emma is just being Emma in this picture.

I loved these spotted jellyfish.

Ava thought they were neat too.

Emma being all cutesy wutesy.

These were adorable. The baby seahorses wrapped their tails around the Mommy seahorses and the Mommy would pull them around. I didn’t really capture how adorable it was in this picture, but it was just the SWEETEST thing!

( I guess it could be the Daddy I don’t really know how to tell them apart.)
Silly kiddos.

It was a fun day. Hopefully we can have another family day soon!
Saturday, my cousin (in-law) Tara and I went to the Family Resource Fair together. Tara is planning on homeschooling her girls, and will be doing some pre-school this year with her oldest daughter Sydney. We went to two workshops that were AWESOME. It was a lot of information, but I learned SO much and it really got me excited about this coming school year. I’ve been a little shy about talking about home schooling on my blog because I feel like I don’t know what the heck I’m doing! HA! But, I am feeling a lot better about things, and I’m spending this summer doing some research on different ways to homeschool. It’s very exciting!
The Resource Fair was held at Crown College. The campus was gorgeous, and the building was fascinating. There were lots of neat historical displays and a gorgeous fountain.

A few of the displays.

I couldn’t believe all of the different books and materials.

We had total information overload. Here are just some of the books and pamphlets that I came home with.

Tara’s husband Joey and their girls hung out at our house while we were there. The kids had a blast playing in the pool and playing on the slipn’slide. I’m sad I didn’t take any pictures of them while they were here.
Today I took the Emma and Wesley to see Mr. Popper’s Penguins. Wesley just finished reading the book and he was really wanting to see the movie. I have to admit that I wasn’t expecting it to be very good, but I was very pleasantly surprised! It was a great family movie. I loved it! Wesley said that it was a lot different from the book, but he loved it too.

I have to share this picture of Emma. She loves to help me cook and especially bake. She helped me make brownies the other day and I snapped a picture of her after she “helped” me by licking the spoon.
