Canoe trip

by Adrienne on July 31, 2011

Yesterday we went to Asheville to visit my Dad and Belinda.  We also met my sister Ellen and her family there.  My Dad decided he wanted to take the older kids on a canoe trip.

Here is the canoe crew ready to go.

Wesley was very excited!

Spencer and Connor rode with Papaw.

Ella and her Daddy.

Eric and Wesley.

Emma and Ava waved goodbye from the shore.

They traveled seven miles down the French Broad river.  It took them about three hours, and they even went by the Biltmore house.   I think everyone had a great time!

Eric took this picture with his phone while they were on the trip.

When they got back my Dad grilled hamburgers and hotdogs for dinner, and we hung out for a while before we had to head back home.

It was a fun day with family!

Dollywood

by Adrienne on July 27, 2011

Yesterday we took the kids to Kids Fest at Dollywood.

I love how they decorate for Kids Fest! So cute!

We got there really early so that we could have breakfast at Aunt Granny’s and meet some characters.

The food was yummy!

We got to meet Strawberry Shortcake! Emma was so excited!

Ava only liked the characters from a distance.  This was  a little too close for her.

I love her eyes in this picture.

We also met Skippy Jon Jones.  He is from some of Wesley’s favorite books.

We also met Llama Llama.  He was so cute! He even had on his red pajamas. :)

We rode the 50′s cars.  Ava LOVED driving!

We saw the Gazillion Bubble show.  It was really fun.

Wesley played in the water for a while to cool off.

Emma and Ava were worn out!

Wesley and I rode the new ride “The Barnstormer” and let’s just say that neither one of us will EVER ride that again!  It was scary and not in a fun way! Ha!

We had a great day at Dollywood and hopefully can make it back over there again soon!

Summer Sickness and Ava Cuteness

by Adrienne on July 24, 2011

If I could sum up our week in one picture this would be it.

Wesley was sick for most of the week with walking pneumonia, and then he gave it to his sisters and me.  We also had a little stomach bug thrown in the mix.  What a week!  So glad it’s over and that everyone seems to be feeling better tonight.

Eric mowed the yard on Saturday evening and Ava watched him the ENTIRE time.  It was so sweet!

She would get really excited and wave each time he went by.

She kept saying her new favorite word, “WOW!”

She is growing up so fast! It seems like she does something new every day!  She refuses to walk.  I think she gets a kick out of all of us trying our best to get her to.  She just gives us a look like “Um I’m way too cute to walk, why don’t you just hold me?”

I love this little sweetie pie so much!

Winnie the Pooh and Memories

by Adrienne on July 19, 2011

Today Emma and I went to see the new Winnie the Pooh movie.  It was fun to have some one on one time with her.

Emma loved the movie.

After she finished her popcorn she climbed up in my lap and didn’t move a muscle the rest of the movie.  It was sweet.

After the movie we did some shopping.  Emma found a new coloring book.

I came home to a very sick little boy.

He is running a fever and feeling pretty yucky.  Praying that he gets well soon and that no one else gets it!

I’ve been meaning to start a memory box for each child, and have started piles of things to save.  Tonight I worked on Wesley’s box.

I put in his baby quilt, baby book, his coming home outfit, dedication outfit, and his first pair of cowboy boots.

I had stacks and stacks of artwork and schoolwork that I went through.  I found this awesome picture that he did in Kindergarten.  It’s a picture of Bethlehem.  He is clearly an artistic genius! ;)

I also came across this baby rattle that he LOVED!  We called it his “girlfriend”.  (Notice how full the box is in the background.)

It was so fun filling up the box.  I’m so thankful for so many great memories with my buddy.  I can’t wait to start on Emma and Ava’s boxes.

Mid-July?

by Adrienne on July 17, 2011

How in the world is it the middle of July already??!!

Everyone’s shopping for back to school supplies and it makes me kind of sad.  I don’t want summer to be over yet!  I have too many things left on my “summer goals list.”

I was pretty productive earlier last week and cleaned out the kids closets.  However, I was so disgusted that I had 4 bags of trash/junk and 3 big bags of toys to donate.

Here are the after pics.

Let’s pretend that the laundry basket is empty.

I’m working on our closet now, and then I’m going to work on cleaning out the garage. Fun!

Last weekend we went to sweet little Sofia’s birthday party.  Here are some party pictures.

They had a water slide so it was a “water theme”.

The birthday girl eating her cupcake.

Wesley coming down the fun water-slide!

I have a funny little story about Ava’s shoes.  She LOVED these shoes! When I would try to take them off she would say “uh-oh” and then try to put them back on.  She wore them in the pool and everything. HA!

Now off to bed so I can cross some more stuff off that list tomorrow.

Swimsuits and Birthday Pics

by Adrienne on July 8, 2011

Yesterday at the pool we had the girls in their matching monogrammed swimsuits so of course we had to take a few pictures.

Eric’s birthday was the end of June and I forgot to mention it on my blog! What a terrible wife I’ve been. ha!

I’m not sure what in the world Emma is doing in this picture. I guess she is just being three.

Eric and I went on a birthday date a few days after his birthday to celebrate.

Happy Birthday to an awesome Daddy and husband.  We love you so much!

July 4th 2011

We had a fun day celebrating the 4th of July, with family and lots of yummy food!  I am so thankful to live in this country and for all of the people that have sacrificed so much to make it such a great nation! Emma and Ava have a new (to them) kitchen set.  It [...]

Road Trip!

Early Friday morning I packed up the van ( with mostly kids) ,and headed over the mountain to Asheville.  There, we picked up Gammy ( my stepmother Belinda), and then headed over to King, North Carolina to visit my sister Ellen and family.  Ellen and Chad have a new little addition to their family that [...]
