Leap day!

by Adrienne on February 29, 2012

Happy Leap Day!

Since it’s the last day of February I thought I’d post some pictures of some of the fun birthdays that we celebrated!

At the beginning of the month (Feb. 2nd to be exact), we celebrated Heather’s birthday at my Mom’s house.

Happy Birthday Heather!

I love this picture of Olivia, Ava and Emma playing the piano.

Sweeties!

We also went to Jamestown, Tn to celebrate Sydney’s 5th birthday.  She had a Rapunzel themed birthday and it was so cute! The girls dressed as princesses.

Snow White eating her Rapunzel tower cupcake.

Sweet little CinderAva.

Emma and the birthday girl!

Happy Birthday Sydney!

This past weekend we celebrated Elliott’s 4th birthday!

In case you didn’t know Emma and Elliott have been BFFs their entire lives. ;)

This was their very first picture together!

Here are a few more

I may have gotten just a little bit carried away, but I couldn’t help myself.  They are so sweet and love each other so much!

Emma picked out this Barbie for Elliott.

Happy birthday Elliott!

Karate Kid and Sweet Sisters

by Adrienne on February 22, 2012

Tonight, Wesley got his first orange stripe in Karate!  He is on his way to becoming an orange belt! He is doing great and LOVES taking karate!  We are getting ready to order his sparring gear and he is really excited about that!

We are proud of you Wesley!

I snapped a few pictures of the girls tonight during bath and bedtime.

They both LOVE this butterfly towel.  I’m going to have to find some more towels like this!

LOOK at this face! Ha!

Reading a story before bed.

Love them so very much!

Valentines and Presidents

by Adrienne on February 20, 2012

  • Emma had her class Valentine party last week.  I let her pick out her Valentines and she went with Hello Kitty.  Hello Kitty has been a big hit at our house lately.  I think that is so neat, because I loved Hello Kitty when I was a little girl.

Emma was so excited to look at all of her Valentines from her friends when she got home.

  • Last week Emma let me put sponge rollers in her hair.

I thought she looked so cute.

She was excited and agreed to sleep in them.  It didn’t really work out like we had hoped, she pulled them all out during the night.  I also don’t think her hair is really long enough for them to work well.  This is what her hair looked the next morning.

  • We are really loving us some girl scout cookies at our house! Yum!

  • Today, in school we made a Presidents Day craft that I found on Pinterest.

It’s reversible.  Wesley’s is on the left and Emma’s in on the right.

We played a little game with them too.  I read facts about each president and they had to guess if it was George Washington or Abraham Lincoln by holding up their faces.   Even though Emma really had no idea, they both had fun, and hopefully learned a little too.

  • Eric and I started going to a new marriage class at our church and right now we are doing this thing called “The Great Date Experiment”.  I can’t wait for our first date!  It should be really fun!  Stay tuned for more on that! ;)

My Valentines

by Adrienne on February 15, 2012

I’m pretty sure this has been the best Valentine’s day that I’ve ever had.  Sunday, we celebrated with the kids.  Emma and I baked some cookies Sunday afternoon.  We wore our matching aprons.

Wesley helped eat stir the cookie dough.

Cutie pie.

Our Valentine cookies.

We had some Valentine gifts for the kids.

Ava was in LOVE with her new Caillou doll.  She kept making out with it.

Ava also wanted to brush and brush and brush her brother’s hair.

It was so adorable that we took a video of it. ( Sorry, it’s kind of long.)

Eric and I celebrated Valentine’s day Monday night.  My dad and stepmom volunteered to come over and hang out with the kids so that we could get away for a night.  We are so very very grateful to them for taking that on!  This was the first time that Ava and I had been apart overnight.  We both did very well.  ;)

Eric took me to The Inn at Christmas Place in Pigeon Forge.  It may seem weird to go to a Christmas themed hotel for Valentine’s day, but if you know me you understand that it was absolutely perfect.

Here is the front of out hotel at night.  I thought it was so pretty.

This is the lobby of the hotel.  Everything was decorated for Christmas.  It was so pretty, and there was even a Christmas tree in our room.

Here I am in front of the massive fireplace in the lobby.

This is the clock or “glockenspeil” that is above the fireplace.  It plays a Christmas song every hour, and Santa comes out of the top.

Me and my Valentine.

We went to dinner across the street at The Partridge and Pear restaurant.  The food was absolutely amazing, and we practically had the entire restaurant to ourselves.  It was so quiet that we were actually whispering.  So nice.

My cute date.

We had such a fun and romantic time.  We were glad to come back home to our little sweeties though.  (Isn’t Emma’s outfit hilarious?  She picked it out herself.)

I almost forgot to put a picture of my beautiful roses.

I feel very blessed and thankful for all of the loves in my life.

On my mind. . .

by Adrienne on February 8, 2012

  • I’ve been slacking a little bit with my blogging lately.  I’ve let my photography slip a little as well.  It is very important to me to take pictures of special events and even our every day life.  We hosted our care group SuperBowl party this past Sunday.  This was our third year having it at our house, and I think this year was my favorite.  We had a really fun time, but I didn’t take one stinkin picture! I’m really frustrated with myself.
  • Eric gave me my Valentine’s gift a little early.  He got me a new iphone! I am in LOVE!
  • This may sound kind of weird, but the past several weeks I have just really enjoyed my kids.  Not that I don’t always, but I just feel like I have a whole new appreciation for being a Mommy right now.  Even during the difficult times, I just feel so grateful to be here with them right now.  I love getting to be home with them.  I love homeschooling Wesley.  I love that they truly love each other and have fun playing together.  I just want to soak it all in, the good, the bad, and the ugly.  I’m truly grateful for these three blessings, and this season of life.
  • Eric and I are getting away for one night next week for Valentine’s day.  We haven’t been away from the kids since this trip before I got pregnant with Ava.  It is ABOUT TIME!
  • My last post, is probably my favorite post ever.
  • We started a new women’s Bible study last month and, WOW, it has really challenged me on many different levels.  I’m REALLY enjoying it, and I’m so thankful for the sweet, precious, women in our group.
  • I have become a Pinterest addict.  I LOVE it.  I have used several recipes and have done several crafts that I’ve found by “pinning” so it has been pretty handy!

Tiny Dancer

by Adrienne on February 2, 2012

Do you have the Elton John song stuck in your head now? You’re welcome.

Tonight was Emma’s first dance class.  She was SO excited about it!  She’s been talking about taking a dance class for a while now, and she was about to bust with excitement all day today!

Here is my pretty little ballerina all decked out in her dance attire.  I asked her to do a “ballet pose” and this is what I got.

When we got to dance class Emma was so excited that her friend Madison from MDO was in her class!  Madison is the one standing next to Emma.

The class is a ballet/tap combo.  They started the class with tap.

I was really impressed at how well Emma kept up with the class.  She was trying really hard and was pretty serious about it.  She would glance back at me for approval every once in a while.  I, of course, reassured her every time with an enthusiastic smile, thumbs up, or applause. ;)

Her teacher’s name is Ms. Mary Katherine.  Isn’t that the perfect ballet teacher name?

At the end of class Ms. Mary Katherine allows them to have some “free dance”  time.

So without further ado I present to you the amazing dancing talents of  Miss Emma Katherine Reagan.
