Last Thursday night was Emma’s first ballet recital. She did such an amazing job and we were very proud of her!
I had a special little gift for her to open before we left for the recital.
She LOVES her ballerina Barbie.
Emma had her tap routine first so we had to get her ready when we got there. This is her friend Madison. Madison was also in her MDO class this year. I think it was really great for Emma to have a friend in dance class. It made her not feel so intimidated.
Ready to tap!
Here is my little happy tapper!
Her ballet performance is my favorite.
I especially LOVE when she notices that her best friend Elliott is in the audience and starts waving to her. So sweet!
Emma had a whole entire pew filled with fans.
Emma and Elliott, who brought her best friend a rose. How sweet is that?
Emma had no idea that she was going to get flowers. She was thrilled!
Daddy and his ballerina.
She was making a sad face because she told me she was tired of taking pictures.
Emma you are beautiful inside and out and we love you so much!
Today, Eric and Wesley put together Ava’s playhouse. This is her birthday present. Her birthday isn’t until Wednesday, but Eric wanted to go ahead and put it together since we didn’t have any plans today. The box said that it would take one hour to assemble, but they didn’t have us so easily convinced.
Since it was so hot today I filled up the kids pool.
I’m hoping that Ava will get over her fear of water soon. She still had fun playing in the sand and water table.
The guys worked hard!
The girls mostly watched.
Ava testing out the doorbell.
I am planning on planting some flowers in those pink buckets.
The back even has a cute little bench!
I’ll have to post some pictures of the inside later. It has a little stove, phone and sink.
The girls both LOVE it! Eric is going to build a little platform for the house to sit on so it will have a wood floor. If you’re wondering, we bought the house at Sams and we are so happy with the quality of it (especially for the price), even if it did take over 4 hours to put together!
I’m sure we will get years of fun out of this playhouse!
Today was Emma’s last day of mother’s day out. She has had such a great year, and has loved going so much. We took her teacher a little gift that I made. Thank you Pinterest for the idea.
On Monday night they had a little spring recital. Emma did such a great job! She sang very loudly and we could hear her above everyone else. She was so cute! She tells me all the time that she wants to be a singer when she grows up.
After the concert we went to Froyoz for a little treat.
I forgot to post this picture from a couple of weeks ago when her class had “hero day”. They were told they could dress up like superheroes, or princesses. I thought for sure that she would want to be a princess, but she insisted on being batgirl!
Today, Emma skipped MDO. It was bring your bike to school day and she just wasn’t so sure about that. (Neither was I.) So instead, we went strawberry picking at the Fruit and Berry Patch in Halls. It’s the same place that we went apple picking in the Fall. We had a great time.
Emma is a big time strawberry fan!
She really got into it, and sampled a few while she was picking.
I had such a good time spending some one on one time with Emma. I’ll be honest, this has been kind of a rough week. No particular reason, just everyone (including me) has been a little grumpy, Emma and Ava have been really clingy and that has really worn me out. I also have had trouble sleeping so that doesn’t help either. Anyway, it was so nice just to do something fun outside today.
When we were done we had strawberry smoothies. Yum! Here is Emma with all of our hard work!
My new little nephew Jonah Michael was born today. I will always think of him from now on when I go to the Fruit and Berry Patch. I talked to my sister Megan as we were pulling in to the parking lot, and she told me she had dialated to 7cm. I was thinking it would be late afternoon before he was born, but nope! He was born while we were in the field picking strawberries! I just got a text from my Dad with a picture of him and I was totally shocked! I just was NOT expecting it to happen that fast!!!
Here are a few of the pictures Megan has sent me.
What a cutie! I wish I could jump through the computer screen right now and kiss those cheeks! We love you Jonah and we can’t wait to meet you!!
I had seen front door monograms on Pinterest and knew that I had to have one. A few weeks ago, a friend of mine that owns an online business started making them. I think I might have been the first person to place an order. I was just a little excited. I have never met a monogram that I didn’t like.
I thought that I would paint it gold, or off white, but decided to go with green because I really wanted it to stand out on my black front door. I matched the color to one of the pillows on my rocking chair. I love how it turned out!
They come in all different sizes. I think this is the biggest size. Click here for a link to the facebook page where you can order one. There are also more pictures of customer orders.
Hi I'm Adrienne! Welcome to my blog! I started this blog to journal our life as a family. I'm a stay-at-home Mom who started the adventure of homeschooling just last year. I've been married to my husband Eric for 11 years. We have been blessed with three children: Wesley (our sweet 9 year old), Emma (our very girly 4 year old), and Ava (our loving, and sometimes a little feisty, 18 month old). We are so thankful to the Lord for all of the blessings in our life and we try to lead a life that is pleasing to Him. Thanks for stopping by and I'd love for you to leave a comment!
